You can easily connect any email account to the myMail app for iOS and Android.
From the menu bar in Mail, choose Mail Add Account. Select your email provider from the list, then click Continue. Some accounts, such as Google, might ask that you click Open Browser to complete authentication in your web browser. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter account details, such as your name, email address, and password. Microsoft Hotmail was a very popular email service, but Microsoft discontinued it in favour of Outlook back in 2013, as a result it can be tricky to sync your Hotmail account with your Mac if you.
If you're setting up an email account from your private or company's domain, you will need some additional information. Ask your network administrator or domain hosting company whether it uses Post Office Protocol (POP) or Internet Mail Access Protocol (IMAP).
To connect an email account that supports POP3/IMAP:
Tap the icon of your email provider, or select OTHER if your provider isn't listed.

Want to setup your Hotmail account on iPad Air, iPad mini or other models? New iPad Air users may have trouble adding their Hotmail email to iPad Air as there is no Hotmail option found during the configuration process. When you go to Settings, then Mail section trying to add Hotmail on iPad Air, iPad mini, you can only find options like iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google Mail, Yahoo Mail, AOL Mail. Hotmail is not an option on iPad any more.
So new iPad Air & iPad mini users may think their Hotmail won’t work on the iPad because it doesn’t even come up as an option. Don’t be confused as iPad Air or iPad mini is actually powerful enough to support most email services that are compatible with IMAP or POP protocols. If so, how do I get my iPad Air or iPad mini to sync with hotmail? Check out below tips and tricks.
Setup Hotmail Account on iPad Air & iPad Mini
Step 1. Tap to open Settings on your iPad Air or iPad mini home screen.
Step 2. Select Mails, Contacts, Calendars, you will then see a list of all existing email accounts configured on your iPad air.
If you are on the latest iOS 11, Go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords and tap Add Account. You can refer to this tutorial to add Outlook, Hotmail, Live mail to iPhone.
Step 3. Tap on Add Account option below the active email accounts list.
Step 4. You will then find a list of all available email service providers, including iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google Mail, Yahoo Mail, AOL Mail. Apparently there is no option like Microsoft Hotmail which we may find in earlier iPad models or iOS versions. To add Hotmail to iPad Air, you can choose the Exchange, Outlook.com or Other option to proceed. We recommend you adding Hotmail to iPad via Outlook.com option which can sync your mail, contacts, calendar, reminders from Hotmail server to iPad.
Step 5. In the new page, enter Hotmail ID, Password, Description. Make sure to use your full email address including the @hotmail.com part, such as iosappweekly@hotmail.com. The description is something to help you easily find out it is your Hotmail account from the existing email accounts list. Although you can simply add any text as the email description, it is highly recommend to use something descriptive especially when you have many emails or even multiple hotmail accounts to be setup on the same iPad. For example, if you add Matt as the email account description, you will be confused as you may have Matt used as an Yahoo email account description, if you simply use Hotmail as the email account description, you may have multiple Hotmail accounts. So a good email account description would be your full email address or something more descriptive such as Matt Hotmail.
Email App Hotmail
Step 6. When you have filled up the required info in last step, tap on Next to proceed. Your iPad Air will then verify your HOTMAIL login credentials. If no mistakes when you input your email ID or password, you will pass the authentication and a new dialogue like below shows up:
You can import mail, calendars, reminders and contacts from Hotmail server to iPad. However the Contacts option is disabled by default. If you like to transfer Hotmail contacts to iPad as well, slide to enable it. After that you will get a new screen like below.
Your iPad will ask how you like to handle existing local contacts on iPad. What would you like to do with existing local contacts on your iPad? Under most circustances, we need to select ‘Keep on My iPad’ option, most likely we do not want to delete existing contacts on iPad. Choose this option can import contacts from Hotmail to iPad while keep existing contacts on iPad intact. If you have deleted contacts on iPad or iPhone in error, you can refer to this guide to recover deleted contacts on iPhone and iPad.
