Getting things done in Bear by mousing or tapping around is fun and all. But you know what really scratches a bear’s back? Keyboard shortcuts. And we have two paw-fuls of ’em for you.

If you’re on a Mac, you can of course take a stroll around Bear’s menu options to see most available shortcuts.
We spent a good amount of time to enable you to use Bear from the keyboard. There are shortcuts a’plenty for adding Markdown style like headings, links, bold, lists, code blocks, and even tasks. Kobo app for laptop.
Bear For Mac
The status quo goes like this: I scribble down ideas in a physical notebook or in the notes app on iOS / Mac. Then I go into FocusWriter (more on that later maybe) and write Hemingway mode. That means focus mode writing only, no editing, deleting, second-guessing, obsessing, contemplating the Aristotelian ethics.
That way the Mac App Store can fully quit 1Password to update it. But that is just a guess. What I do know is that without the App Store being able to update 1Password automatically a lot of my relatives who use 1Password but aren’t that tech savvy will probably not be able to ever update the app. The Mac version of 1Password is not available via iTunes. If you search for 1Password in the iTunes Store, you will only find the iOS version of 1Password. If you want to purchase the Mac App Store version of 1Password, you must do that through the Mac App Store, which is only available on Mac OS X. 1password mac app store.
Bear Mac App
Some shortcuts are for moving lines of text throughout your note, while our journaling users can add dates in a variety of formats. There are also shortcuts for navigating notes and tags, starting your edits at the end of the current note, and more.

This is probably also a good time to mention that Bear has full support for TextExpander and its iOS app. With TextExpander, you can create snippets of reusable text, then trigger them anywhere on your Mac, in supported iOS apps like Bear, or anywhere on iOS with the TextExpander Keyboard. It’s powerful stuff.
